Do You Want to Check Your Pronunciation?
Dear language learner,
We are very excited to be able to offer you this Indonesian Introductions course. We believe that Teachable is a great online course platform, but we are always working to provide you more valuable.
At present we cannot offer you the ability to record yourself within one of our courses and compare yourself to the audio files of our Indonesian teachers.
So until that option is available (if it can be available), we would like to offer you a work-around solution.
1. Select the phrases and/or words that you will say to be compared with a native Indonesian speaker.
2. Record yourself saying those phrases
- If you use a Windows laptop or computer, open Sound Recorder. Sound Recorder requires that you have a microphone plugged into your computer in order to record. Click the "Start Recording" button to record up to 60 seconds of audio. Click the save button and repeat as necessary to records the phrases you want to compare. Sound Recorder offers both a resume recording and stop recording option.
- If you use a Mac laptop or computer, open Quick Time Player. Click 'File' then 'New Audio Recording.' You will not be limited to only 60 seconds of recording, but there is no resume recording option available.
- Use your smart phone or other mobile device to record yourself. We apologize that we can not provide you with any suggestions regarding recording on your mobile device.
3. Located the phrases that you recorded in their respective module. Play back your voice and then play back the phrase you selected either from See and Say or Listen and Repeat.
This method gives you a better representation of what your voice really sounds like as compared to a native Indonesian speaker.
Happy learning,
Delita, Dian, and Nathan
